Callan Bowling
Callan Bowling
Drawing from faith and personal memory, Callan Bowling creates layered works in
painting, sculpture, and film that incorporate handwritten prayers,
iridescent surfaces, and light.
Bowling’s work engages themes related to faith, memory, and lived experience.
She frequently includes handwritten prayers, thoughts, and other textual elements
within her compositions, alongside layered paint and iridescent materials.
Her recent projects draw from experiences including marriage, loss, birth, and
motherhood, and she anticipates her practice and themes to continue evolving as
her life does. Bowling is currently completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio
Art at Louisiana Tech University’s School of Design in Ruston, Louisiana.
